Get to know me!

Hi, my name is Lexie! I'm a transgender photographer from Kansas City. I had been inspired from the age my mom would let me hold her Nikon D100 to capture all of life's beauty from the Crossroads Arts District to the serene beauty of the Loose Park. For me photography transcends snapping a picture; It is a way for me to show the world how I see it through my eyes. My journey as a photographer has allowed me to collaborate with local organizations, pride events, and creative collectives. Each project has reinforced my belief that photography can be a tool for activism and change. By highlighting diverse narratives, I aspire to inspire others to embrace their true selves and find strength in their identities. I’m thrilled to share this story with you and invite you to engage with my work. Let’s connect, explore the beauty of our shared experiences, and document the vibrant, inclusive tapestry of life together.

Inclusive Photography

Each click of the shutter is a way to celebrate authenticity and find beauty in our shared experiences. As a transgender person, I understand firsthand how complex and beautiful queer stories can be, and I use my lens as my pen to tell your story. Inclusive photography is not just a professional pursuit for me; it is deeply personal. My process goes beyond the art of taking pictures; it involves creating safe spaces where individuals can be their true selves. I strive to empower my subjects, illuminating their stories and giving them a voice through my lens. This commitment to inclusivity has led me to work with a variety of communities, capturing the beauty and uniqueness of each person's journey.

Through my work, I aim to challenge stereotypes and dismantle societal norms about beauty and identity. I focus on celebrating diversity—whether that’s showcasing love stories of LGBTQ+ couples, documenting the lives of individuals across various backgrounds, or capturing the essence of drag performances. I believe that representation matters; when people see themselves in art, it can foster understanding, compassion, and connection.
